| Struggling with thoughts and feelings as we watch local families sit in an unfathomable unknown as they wait for news on their missing babies. There are many unanswered questions, but we can find confidence here. God is great. When we are desperate for help and hope, we can look to Him who is all-knowing, all-powerful, limitless, and perfectly ruling over all creation. He’s also good. And we’re desperate for good news. Every part of who He is is good. All He does is good. He’s near to the broken-hearted. He cares for the hurting. He provides comfort for the sad. Strength for the weak. Hope in the middle of destruction. Peace that surpasses all understanding. Everything He does is for the good of His beloved people. And friends, He is at work. He’s never not doing the work of ruling over creation and caring for His people. We just don’t have all the details. We can’t always see what He’s doing and how He’s working all things for good, and that’s okay (it’s not easy, but information and answers won’t provide us with the hope and comfort we long for). He carries for us what we can’t carry for ourselves, and He gives us everything we need to trust Him. He assures us that He knows what’s going on, cares, has a plan, and will provide for all our needs. He promises us that all the darkness will end one day, and His perfect world will be restored. Until then, we trust Him. We look to Him to provide for our needs, even when we can’t understand. He’s capable and faithful to do just that. Praying continuously for these hurting Texas families. |
