I hope this prayer will spur you on to pray truth for the adoptee you know and love. Add their names and any specific needs you know of, and pray earnestly for their salvation, heart, and life.
Father, you formed their inward parts. You knitted them together in their mother’s womb.
We praise you, because they are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Your works are wonderful and we know it very well.1
We come to you on behalf of the adoptees we know and love.
Lord, provide for their needs in the way only You can –
You did not spare your own son, but gave him up for us all,
and you will graciously give us all things we need.2
You are their shepherd, and they can trust you for provision.3
Father, provide unity in their families and friends to pour into their lives.
Rescue them from sin and restore them to relationship with You.
Be their salvation.
Sanctify them completely, and may their whole spirit and soul and body
be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.4
Allow them to trust You and not be afraid. May You be their strength and song.5
Give them strength and courage when walking the difficult and painful parts of their stories.
Allow them to feel that You are with them wherever they go.6
Be near to them when they are broken-hearted or crushed in spirit.7
Lord, fill them with all joy and peace in believing, so by the power of the Holy Spirit,
they may abound in hope.8 Equip them for every good work.9
Fill them with your perfect love so it may overflow to everyone around them.10
Make them disciplers of all nations.11 Thank you for their life.
